The Appellant-Husband and Respondent-Wife, married in 2000, had matrimonial disputes leading to separation. They entered into a Settlement Agreement on 16.05.2024, agreeing to a mutual divorce and outlining financial settlements, property transfers, and jewellery. The Appellant filed for divorce by mutual consent, and the First Motion was allowed. The Appellant paid the first installment and a sum for a car, and returned jewellery, while the Respondent transferred a sum to the Appellant. Subsequently, the Respondent withdrew consent for mutual divorce and filed a domestic violence complaint against the Appellant and his mother. The Appellant filed a contempt petition and a quashing petition before the High Court.
